Media Study (language, drama, visual arts)
Students will consult photographs, documents or period newspapers as examples to create a newspaper describing a day in the life of Sir John. Students will interview Sir John A. Macdonald or one of the witnesses to a significant historical event in Sir John's life: his knighthood, the Riel rebellions, the Pacific Scandal, his home life, his alcohol abuse, his vision and the realities of uniting Canada using the Canadian Pacific Railway, etc. Links to resources are available in the Further Research section of the LAC Sir John A.
