Draw It (visual arts, language arts)
Refer to archival photos and have students recreate an image captured on film or in original artwork, or photocopy half of an image and have students recreate the other half. For images, consult the LAC Sir John A. Macdonald website and the links in its Further Research section, as well as the Images Canada website (www.imagescanada.ca).
Students will draw an original comic strip detailing a significant historical event involving Sir John A. Macdonald. The class can then compile their comic strips of different events into one book to create a graphic novel on the life and times of Sir John.
