World Wide Detective. Vol. 1, no. 2 (August 1941)

Walter Leslie's cover for the August 1941 issue of World Wide Detective may have been consciously designed to mimic the look and feel of an American pulp magazine. At first glance, it could easily be mistaken for an issue of The Shadow. Leslie's subtle watercolour shading and strong composition lead one to believe he may have had a background in graphic design.
