Do not create name-title references. If a reference is required, make the reference from the inverted form, the pseudonym, the real name, etc. alone, not name-title references.

This type of reference is suitable for card catalogues. The records in the national bibliography should contain specific references when necessary even if repetitive.

Decision

In the case of translated titles, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) will not create see references to the uniform title and the appropriate language subheading from different titles and variants of the title under which the work has been published. This decision was taken based on the resource implications of creating such references.
