Banner: Leading Canada

Dear Prime Minister

Prime ministers receive correspondence on every possible subject, much of it from ordinary Canadians. The volume of such mail has increased dramatically since John A. Macdonald's day, when a prime minister could answer much of his correspondence in his own hand. Today, in a single day, our leaders receive hundreds, sometimes thousands, of letters, the tone of which ranges from vehement hostility to heartfelt admiration.
