  The Relics of Mourning
Wilfrid Laurier's death on February 17, 1919, marked the passing of another venerable Canadian statesman. The buildings along the route of the funeral cortege were draped in black and purple, including the Victoria Museum, where his body lay in state. Judges, diplomats, politicians, and other dignitaries joined the funeral procession, one of the first public events to be filmed in Canada. -View the film (RealPlayer 7.0 or higher required).
