Biographical sketch
Publisher-journalist and founding chairman of the Committee for the Centenary of the Birth of Calixa Lavallée (Canadian National Committee) and the Committee for the Lavallée-Routhier-Weir Monument. 

Scope and content
The fonds contains records illustrating the activities of L.-J.-N. Blanchet on the Canadian National Committee and the Committee for the Lavallée-Routhier-Weir Monument:  correspondence pertaining to the committees; minutes; typescripts of Une vie illustrée de Calixa Lavallée, auteur de Ô Canada (Montréal:  Cie des publications provinciales, 1951); speeches and talks; newspaper articles; scrapbooks containing press clippings; photographs used to illustrate documents and events for the centenary. 

Immediate source of acquisition:  acquired from Father Charles-Émile Gadbois in 1981.
