Biographical sketch
Musician (mando-cello) and teacher, Sidney Dolgay formed the folk group The Travellers in 1953 with Jerry Gray, Helen Gray, Jerry Goodis and Oscar Ross.  He left the group in 1965. 

Scope and content
The fonds includes records pertaining to the musical activities of Sidney Dolgay and the group The Travellers:  correspondence; manuscript copies of popular songs; press clippings; posters; photographs, mainly of members of The Travellers; sound recordings of performances by The Travellers and many other singers (1956-72); interviews with Brian Ahearne and Moe Koffman; films of The Travellers during a trip to Russia. 

Immediate source of acquisition:  acquired from Sidney Dolgay, in several accessions, between 1990 and 1995.
