Charles-Émile Gadbois fonds.  - [ca. 1938]-1981.  - 16 cm of textual records.  - 71 photographs. 

Biographical sketch
Publisher, instrumentalist and composer born in Saint-Barnabé-Sud near Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, he founded the publishing and distribution house La Bonne Chanson, and collected the 500 songs that make up the ten albums in the collection. 

Scope and content
The fonds consists of records illustrating the activities of Charles-Émile Gadbois and La Bonne Chanson:  scrapbooks of press clippings, publicity flyers, a few pieces of correspondence and photographs which trace the history of La Bonne Chanson. 

Immediate source of acquisition:  acquired from a Montréal antiquarian in 1989.
