Biographical sketch
Mezzo-soprano and teacher at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto from 1915 to 1952. 

Scope and content
The fonds consists of records pertaining to the musical activities of Joy Denton Kennedy:  correspondence; writings; notebooks; lectures; speeches and notes; subject files containing correspondence, photographs and other records concerning J. Campbell McInnes, Emmy Heim, Norah Drewett and Geza de Kresz, Healey Willan, Béatrice La Palme, Engel Lund, the Toronto Conservatory of Music, the Ontario Music Teachers' Association and Canadian Music Associates (Ontario); concert programmes; photographs of personalities from the music world, such as Béatrice La Palme. 

Immediate source of acquisition:  acquired from Elizabeth Joy Clarry, daughter of Joy Denton Kennedy, in 1970 and 1995.
