Biographical sketch
Violinist and teacher born in London, England, James Levey performed with many music groups, including the Royal Albert Hall Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London String Quartet and the Hart House String Quartet. 

Scope and content
The fonds contains records pertaining to the musical activities of James Levey:  biographical document; correspondence; concert programmes; press clippings; newsletter; scores dedicated to J. Levey by Elizabeth Harrison and E.A. Collins; poster; photographs of James Levey. 

Immediate source of acquisition:  acquired from Mrs.  James Levey, the musician's widow, in 1976.
