Administrative history
Folk music festival established in Orillia, Ontario by Crawford Jones, Ruth Jones and Pete McGarvey.  Guests at the first festival included The Travellers, Al Cherny, Jean Carignan, Alan Mills and Jacques Labrecque. 

Scope and content
The fonds contains records pertaining to the organization and activities of the Mariposa Folk Festival:  minutes book for the 1961 festival; scrapbook of press clippings and concert programmes; photographs of artists participating in the festival. 

Immediate source of acquisition:  acquired from Ruth Jones McVeigh in 1991.
