Collaborative National Initiatives

The national role of Library and Archives Canada (LAC) encompasses: collaborative national strategies for Canada's documentary heritage and leadership in the achievement of national goals; building capacity in Canada's library and archival networks to provide comprehensive and seamless service to Canadians; fostering of innovation and new approaches; delivering national programs and services in partnership with the library and archival network; contributing Canada's experience internationally and sharing of international developments with the Canadian network; and strengthening government and community awareness of the economic, cultural, and educational assets of their documentary heritage and national access network.
