This watercolour, with its title prominently displayed on the side of the canoe, was designed as a decorative vignette to accompany a map. The clothing worn by these Aboriginal hunters is shown in great detail. Of particular note is the trade silver (brooch, gorget, armbands), which was specially made by Europeans to exchange with Aboriginal people.
