Amendment Procedures

The Bath Profile Maintenance Agency provides access to Bath Profile Amendments. An amendment alters and/or adds to the previously agreed technical provisions, contents and/or scope in the existing version of the Profile. Any implementer, user or interested party may propose an amendment to the profile.

Amendment Procedures

The Bath Profile is modular. Amendments will be used to document proposals for the addition of new functional areas or levels of conformance. The Maintenance Agency will work with the proposer and with the Bath Profile Developer Group to develop the proposal. The proposal will be posted on the Maintenance Agency web site prior to discussion at the next Developer Group meeting.

A proposed amendment is initially assigned a status of pending Developer Group review and should be prepared far enough ahead to allow time for discussion via the BATH-PROFILE-L discussion list (a minimum of 14 days prior to the Developer Group meeting).

The proposal may be revised as a result of this discussion and a new proposal prepared for discussion at the meeting. If the Developer Group endorses the proposal, then it is assigned a status of endorsed. If not, the proposal is either withdrawn or re-drafted for further discussion via email and presented again to a future Developer Group meeting. The Maintenance Agency determines whether or not the Developer Group endorses an amendment. All endorsed amendments are listed on the Maintenance Agency site until they have been incorporated into the profile.

When a new version of the profile is prepared, all endorsed amendments will be incorporated into the appropriate functional area and conformance level.
