Procedures for handling editorial and minor technical defects When notified of an editorial or minor technical defect, the Maintenance Agency will post the defect report on the Bath Profile web site and send a notification to the BATH-PROFILE-L discussion list. The discussion period on the list will be 30 days. After 30 days the defect report may be modified based on the discussion. Defects will be approved by means of the list discussion process. Once a defect is approved, the Bath Profile will be revised by the Bath Editorial Team. Revised pages will be designated as revised by means of a "last revised date" indication on the page. The defect report status will show that the profile has been updated. Procedures for handling major technical defects Following list discussion of major technical defects, the status of the defect report will be pending approval. The solution will be formally proposed at the next meeting of the Bath Profile Developer Group for endorsement. If endorsed, the report status will change to endorsed. If not, the defect report will be either withdrawn or re-drafted for further discussion and presented again at a future Bath Profile Developer Group meeting. The Maintenance Agency determines whether or not the report has been endorsed. Endorsed major technical defect reports will be maintained on the Maintenance Agency web site until incorporated into a new version of the Bath Profile. Procedures for handling clerical defects When notified of a clerical defect, the Maintenance Agency in consultation with the Bath Profile Editorial Team will ensure that the appropriate change is made to the profile and the revision noted on the page via the addition of a "date last updated" indication. Clerical defects will not undergo an approval process. |
