1- As a class, brainstorm with students about what they think of when they hear the words "Canada Gazette". What does it mean to them? Write down the students' ideas or guesses about what the Canada Gazette might be.
2- Distribute Handout 1.1 which contains an explanation of the Canada Gazette. In groups, have the students answer the comprehension questions about the introduction to the Canada Gazette listed in Handout 1.2 using the information contained in Handout 1.1. Regroup as a class to share answers and clarify.
