Kee-akee-ka-saa-ka-wow "The man that Gives the War Whoop," Cree Indian
1848, by Paul Kane

During his stay at the Hudson's Bay Company's Fort Pitt, Kane sketched this portrait of a Cree chief with face paint and a ceremonial wolf skin. The chief was participating in a vengeance party that was planning an attack on Blackfoot Indians. Pipestems were collected from the participants as a promise that they would take part in the attack.
