Thank you for giving me the opportunity to respond to the CDIS Draft Strategy. While the paper seems to be progressing well I still have some concerns about Objective 1.2, "Provide a conducive environment for the growth of Canadian digital content information". This reads as a quite broad interpretation of the strategy's first outcome, "Canada's information assets and accumulated knowledge are in digital form".

Given that the examples outlined in the paper are mainly text and publishing examples, the quote on page 18; "The Strategy aims to create an environment in which both small and large, traditional and new media producers thrive", may appear to be over reaching. If the Strategy appears to be over reaching to all digital content production, which could include interactive products developed for commercial purposes by the new media industry, this has the potential to diminish the credibility of the paper.

I suggest emphasis on these types of products be left to the section pertaining to preservation.
