Frank Dawson Adams Collection

The personal collection of Professor Frank Dawson Adams, geologist, historian of science, and first Dean of Graduate Studies at McGill University, was bequeathed to the Osler Library.

The collection includes rare and historic works on geology and related sciences. It contains material from the fifteenth to the twentieth centuries with particular strength in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It includes classic works by Athanasius Kircher and Sir William Hamilton. The collection is not being developed further.

Interlibrary Loan: Available for post-1900 material only and at the discretion of the librarian.

Reprography: Photocopying of pre-1918 material is at the discretion of the librarian. Microfilm and photography services are also available, (although not on the premises) and also at the discretion of the librarian.
