The personal collection of Professor Frank Dawson Adams, geologist, historian of science, and first Dean of Graduate Studies at McGill University, was bequeathed to the Osler Library.
Description
The collection includes rare and historic works on geology and related sciences. It contains material from the fifteenth to the twentieth centuries with particular strength in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It includes classic works by Athanasius Kircher and Sir William Hamilton. The collection is not being developed further.
