History
The nucleus of the collection was given to the library by the Canadian Committee for a Democratic Spain in 1975. The collection has been expanded by gift, purchase, and transfer.

Description
The collection is a selective collection of books, pamphlets, periodicals, posters, and ephemera relating to the Spanish Civil War and its impact on the international community. It includes contemporary political material, memoirs, and some fiction. Material relating to the Canadian Committee for a Democratic Spain is also included. Additional material is acquired as funds permit.
