De Lury Collection University of Toronto, Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library Subjects Yeats, W.B.; Irish literature; English literature History The collection was established in 1955. It has been built upon a gift of books from the estate of Dean Alfred De Lury. Description The collection is a large collection of material centred upon W. B. Yeats and his circle. It is especially strong in editions of the Yeats family, and of George William Russell (AE), Lady Gregory, and J. M. Synge. The collection is also noted for its coverage of the entire Anglo-Irish renaissance, including works by James Joyce, George Bernard Shaw, Samuel Beckett, and minor figures. Many of Yeats' English friends are also represented: Ernest Dowson, Walter De la Mare, Aubrey Beardsley, and others. Future plans are to obtain all important editions of relevant authors, new critical editions, and new research material on previously unpublished items.
