The collection was donated in 1981 by the family of the collector, the late Mr. Joe Fishstein of New York.
Description
The collection is composed primarily of twentieth century Yiddish poetry. Other forms of Yiddish literature and literary criticism are included. The collection contains standard works as well as rare, pre-World War II, East European imprints (many in pamphlet form); and ephemeral material such as scrapbooks of photos and postcards.
