The collection was established in 1980. It began with a small memorial fund set up by friends of Reginald Watters. Appropriate items have also been transferred from the general collection.
Description
The collection includes a broad selection of the first editions of nineteenth and twentieth-century Canadian literature, with particular emphasis on works which reflect Canadian military and wartime experience from the Red River Rebellion to the present. However, historical military romance fiction is not a collection priority. There are a significant number of rare, limited-run, and signed monographs.
Language
English and French language material predominates.
