The core of the CAAE library collection was purchased in 1967. The remainder of the collection was subsequently donated to OISE.
Description
The collection includes material on adult education and related topics such as cooperatives, community development, literacy, and university extension. The collection reflects the programme directions and information services of CAAE from 1935 to 1970. Canadian, American, British, and international documents, including UNESCO publications, are available. The collection is not being expanded. CAAE monographs have been absorbed into the regular collection and the vertical files in storage are to be viewed by appointment only.

Approximately 2,000 monographs; 9,000 items in classified vertical files.
Bibliographic Access
The monographs have been catalogued into our regular collection and are available through the University of Toronto Libraries catalogue. There is a card catalogue to vertical files. A modified Universal Decimal Classification system is used.
