From 1964 to 1968, the Rev. Harold B. Gardner, Chief Librarian, gathered together a collection of the works of Etienne Gilson. Since then, the library has purchased all editions and translations of the works of Gilson that have come to its attention.
Description
The collection includes different editions of all the works of Etienne Gilson, works edited by Gilson, works with contributions by Gilson, off prints of artides, copies of book reviews, and translations of all different types of work. The geographic and chronological emphasis, as it applies to Gilson, is on France and Canada from 1884 to 1978. The archives of the Institute contain the personal papers and letters of Professor Gilson.
