Description
The collection is an extensive collection of first and important editions of Thomas Hobbes's works. Contemporary and later critical works are also included. Material up to 1750 has been collected. Unique items include three issues of Hobbes's Leviathan, all purporting to be the first edition of 1651; and an unpublished poem by Hobbes in manuscript form entitled De motibus solis.
