Jesuitica Collection Campion College, Library Subjects Jesuits--Canada; Jesuits--History; Jesuits--Biography; Jesuits--Education; Jesuits--Missions History Designated a special collection in 1979, Jesuitica has been collected since the college was founded in 1917. The Oblate Juniorate Collection was purchased in 1968. The acquisition of new material is made possible through donations from the Jesuit Fathers of Saskatchewan. Description Jesuit history, philosophy, biography, and social and cultural analysis of the Jesuit order from 1600 to the present day are emphasized. The geographic emphasis is on Canada and, to a lesser extent, North America and other areas of the world. The collection includes many important source documents such as the Jesuit relations as well as important serials such as Archivum Historicum Societatis lesu, Monumenta Historia S.I., Bibliographicus S.I., etc. The present acquisition policy is to acquire recent publications and rare and out-of-print works on Jesuit history in North America. Language English and French materials predominate but other languages include Italian, German, and Spanish. Titles are purchased in their original language whenever possible. Holdings 1,200 monographs; 20 serials; 33 microforms, including some rare material on Canadian Jesuit history. Bibliographic Access The collection is catalogued. LC classification and subject headings are used. All titles acquired since 1977 are recorded in the A-G Canada Ltd system and the National Library Union Catalogue as well as in the University of Regina's online catalogue. Uncatalogued materials are accessible. Physical Access The collection is open to the public during regular library hours.
