History
Designated a special collection in 1979, Jesuitica has been collected since the college was founded in 1917. The Oblate Juniorate Collection was purchased in 1968. The acquisition of new material is made possible through donations from the Jesuit Fathers of Saskatchewan.
Description
Jesuit history, philosophy, biography, and social and cultural analysis of the Jesuit order from 1600 to the present day are emphasized. The geographic emphasis is on Canada and, to a lesser extent, North America and other areas of the world. The collection includes many important source documents such as the Jesuit relations as well as important serials such as Archivum Historicum Societatis lesu, Monumenta Historia S.I., Bibliographicus S.I., etc. The present acquisition policy is to acquire recent publications and rare and out-of-print works on Jesuit history in North America.
