Description
The collection contains first and important editions of most of John Locke's works as well as early abridgements and translations. Important items in the collection include the first five editions of the Essay concerning human understanding; and Locke's first known appearance in print, a poem in Musarum Oxoniensium elaiophoria [romanized] (1654). Material up to 1750 is included in the collection.
