The Jesuits of Upper Canada donated the major portion of this collection. The collection is augmented by items purchased from regular operating funds as well as an annual fund-raising campaign.
The aim of this collection is to comprehensively acquire all works by and about Bernard J. F. Lonergan. The collection contains monographs, serials, audiotapes, theses, and unpublished papers of Lonergan.
The material is not restricted according to language and all translations are collected. English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, Danish, Chinese, Japanese, and Latin works are included.
1,000 monographs; 3 serials; 300 audiotapes; Bernard Lonergan's personal files, books, card indices, etc.
Except for some of the archival material, the collection is catalogued using the Institute's own classification scheme. The uncatalogued archival material is accessible, although some physical restrictions apply.
