The collection was begun in 1911 and has been developed through purchases and gifts.
Description
The collection includes biographies, criticisms, independent studies, journals, and essays on Martin Luther, the Lutheran Church, and the Reformation of the sixteenth century. A few rare items, mostly German, are found. The collection is strong in nineteenth and twentieth century publications, primarily European and North American. The library attempts to purchase all major English and German publications.

Approximately 3,500 monographs; 60 serials; 40 serials currently received; 200 microforms.

The collection is catalogued on-line. It is part of the regular library collection. LC subject headings and classification are used. The holdings are recorded in the National Library Union Catalogue.
