History
Wesleyana will be found in two separate collections: the Wesleyana Collection and the Green Collection. The Wesleyana Collection, established in the early 1920s, has been expanded by purchases, gifts, and transfers from the circulating collections.The Green Collection was assembled by Dr. Richard Green of Manchester, England. It was acquired by Sir John Eaton and presented to Victoria University in 1921.

Description
The Green and Wesleyana Collections combined make up the strongest collection of the Wesleys' publications in North America. The Wesleyana Collection consists primarily of John Wesley's works. It also includes works by Charles and Samuel Wesley and some biographical material on the Wesley family. First editions as well as rare and variant issues are found. The Green Collection includes works of John and Charles Wesley - sermons, hymns, prose, verse, and letters. The Green Collection is kept intact and nothing is added to it, in accordance with Dr. Green's wishes. Reference works, critical monographs, and journals to support these collections will be found in the open stacks of Emmanuel College, and in the United Church Archives at Victoria University.

Wesleyana Collection: 650 monographs; autographed letters and memorabilia. Green Collection: 600 monographs.

Bibliographic Access
The Wesleyana Collection is catalogued. LC subject headings and classification are used. There is a separate local shelf list. Also available is Dr. Frank Baker's A union catalogue of the publications of John and Charles Wesley (Durham, N.C.: Divinity School, Duke University, 1966). The holdings are recorded in University of Toronto Union Catalogue and COM catalogue; the National Library Union Catalogue; UTLAS; and ESTC. The Green Collection is not catalogued. It is organized chronologically by date of publication according to Dr. Green's numbering system. Access to the collection is through Richard Green's The works of John and Charles Wesley: a bibliography (1906), and Baker's list (mentioned above). There is no subject access to the Green Collection. The holdings are recorded in ESTC.
