The collection was established ca 1973. Many pacifist items were received with the World War I Collection. Pacifist holdings have been expanded through grants.
Description
The collection is a comprehensive collection of monographs, leaflets, and serials on British pacifist movements and pacifists between 1900 and 1945. Rare and ephemeral pamphlet publications are also included. All pacifist material is acquired as it becomes available. The collection is developed in conjunction with archival collections, such as the Bertrand Russell and Vera Brittain Archives.
