Collection belonged to the well-known ornithologist, James L. Baillie and acquired from his widow, Mrs. Helen Baillie, in 1971.
The collection contains books, pamphlets, offprints and periodicals on ornithology and natural history. Largely American in emphasis. Collection is expanded through gifts and purchases.

Books and pamphlets are catalogued; some periodicals are catalogued. List of uncatalogued periodicals is at the Reference Desk. Card file of offprints on ornithology and natural history in special files is in the Reference area.
