Established in 1925, this collection is part of the Edith and Lorne Pierce Collection of Canadiana. The Bliss Carman Collection began with a gift of Carman's manuscripts from Edith and Lorne Pierce. It was complemented by the gift of the private library of Blanche Hume in 1967.
Description
The collection is a comprehensive collection of Bliss Carman's literary works in all variant editions. Secondary critical sources are also included. New material is acquired as it becomes available.

272 monographs; 1 vertical file (24 items); l0 linear metres of papers held in the University Archives, Kathleen Ryan Hall; 3 microfilm reels (letters and other forms of correspondence). Material to supplement this collection will be found in the mainstacks collection.
Bibliographic Access
The collection is catalogued in a card catalogue and on-line. LC subject headings and NLC Canadiana authorities are used.Canadian literature is classified according to the National Library of Canada's literature schedule. Non literary works are classified according to LC. Items catalogued before June 1980 and after February 1990 are recorded in the National Library Union Catalogue. Special indexes and/or bibliographies include a checklist of Carman's letters, a catalogue of manuscripts, and "imprint" files.
