The collection was established ca 1965.
Description
The collection is part of the Eighteenth Century Collection. It includes seventeenth and eighteenth century editions of Dryden's works. Manuscripts are excluded from the collection. Present acquisition policies are to acquire every Dryden item which becomes available, including eighteenth century French, German, and Italian translations.

The collection is catalogued in the Eighteenth Century Collection card catalogue. LC subject headings are used. The collection is not classified. The material is arranged according to an internal shelving location number. The holdings records are currently being converted to the library's online catalogue. Special bibliographies include an annotated copy of Hugh Macdonald's John Dryden: a bibliography of early editions of Drydeniana (London: Dawsons, 1966).
