The collection was established ca 1965. It forms part of the Eighteenth Century Collection.
Description
The collection includes first, early, and variant editions of works by Oliver Goldsmith. Most items written by Goldsmith (literature, and British history, etc.) are present in variant editions. The emphasis of the collection is eighteenth and nineteenth century material. Manuscripts are not included. The present acquisition policy is to acquire Goldsmith works when available.
Language
English, French, and selected foreign language material.
Holdings
420 monographs.
Bibliographic Access
The collection is catalogued in the Eighteenth Century Collection card catalogue. LC subject headings are used. Eighteenth century material is arranged according to internal shelving location numbers. Nineteenth century editions have been classified according to LC. The holdings are currently being converted to the library's online catalogue.
