The core of this collection was received as part of the Robert J. Woods Collection. The University of Alberta purchased the Woods collection in 1968. Woods was a founding member of the Zamorano Club of Los Angeles, a charter member of the Book Club of California, and a member of the major typo-bibliographic societies in California. Mr. Woods acquired ninety-nine per cent of the press output of the Grabhorn Press, San Francisco.
