The collection was established ca 1965. It forms part of the Eighteenth Century Collection.
Description
The collection includes eighteenth century editions of Alexander Pope's works, in first and variant editions. Manuscripts are excluded from the collection. Present acquisition policy is to acquire any available Pope items from the eighteenth century.

The collection is catalogued in the Eighteenth Century Collection card catalogue. LC subject headings are used. The collection is not classified and is arranged according to internal shelving location numbers. The holdings are currently being converted to the library's online catalogue. Special bibliographies include an annotated copy of Griffith's Alexander Pope: a bibliography.
