Reginald E. Watters Memorial Collection|
Canadian literature--First editions; War poetry, Canadian; War fiction, Canadian
The collection was established in 1980. It began with a small memorial fund set up by friends of Reginald Watters. Appropriate items have also been transferred from the general collection.
The collection includes a broad selection of the first editions of nineteenth and twentieth-century Canadian literature, with particular emphasis on works which reflect Canadian military and wartime experience from the Red River Rebellion to the present. However, historical military romance fiction is not a collection priority. There are a significant number of rare, limited-run, and signed monographs.
English and French language material predominates.
The collection is catalogued on cards and online. LC and NLC subject headings are used. LC and NLC classifications are used. There is an in-house bibliography.
The collection is open to the public. For further information visit: http://www.rmc.ca/academic/library/index_e.html.
