The British Columbia Archives is the central archives service for the government of British Columbia. The archival holdings include government documents and records; private historical manuscripts and papers; maps, charts and architectural plans; photographs; paintings, drawings and prints; audio and video tapes; film; newspapers; and an extensive library. The Web site is uni-lingual English. There are online indexes to vital events (births, marriages and deaths), to the visual, textual and cartographic records and to the library catalogue. Inquiries may be submitted via electronic form or e-mail, as well as by mail or fax. Microfilm copies of several records are available at various institutions worldwide.
