Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec is responsible for the conservation of documents relevant to the history of Quebec. The archives makes its services available throughout the entire province through a network of nine regional centres. The holdings consist of textual records, photographs, iconographic documents, maps and plans, sound recordings, films and videos, and originate from government, judicial, civil and private records. The Web site is uni-lingual French. It has a database called PISTARD which describes the holdings in the regional centres. There are no genealogy specific indexes on-line. The site give a brief description of the major genealogical sources available through genealogical and historical societies. Inquiries can be sent by mail, telephone, fax or e-mail.
