Northwest Territories Archives
Description:
The Northwest Territories Archives acquires, preserves, and makes available for public research the records of the territorial government and private-sector papers and records relevant to the human history of the Northwest Territories. Holdings consist of text, photographs, cartographic records, sound recordings, videotapes, film reels. The inclusive dates are 1845-1990 and the predominant dates are 1930-1980. The French version of the Web site is still under construction. It contains online finding aids as well as five databases for Photo, Place Names, NWT Archives, Sound and a General Database that searches the four other databases. There are no genealogy specific indexes. Inquiries can be sent by e-mail, fax or telephone.
