| Description: | This film presents a series of portraits of artists demonstrating the importance of Aboriginal art in Canadian culture. The long-stifled artistic creativity of Aboriginals has re-emerged today to offer an interpretation, often bold, of ancestral traditions. This film looks at all disciplines and focuses less on the traditional and museological dimension of Aboriginal art and instead emphasizes the vitality of today. The producer followed these artists into their workshops, filmed them at work and recorded their comments in order to share with us their vision of the world and art, and endeavoured to identify the specificity of their inspiration, such as their interest in nature, animals and dreams. |
