Description:Due to a few seconds of hesitation at the start of a race, Laurie is forced to retire from mountain bike racing. Her team members exclude her, considering her too old for this type of sport. Back in Montreal, she moves in with her physicist brother, a young man who has trouble approaching girls and spends most of his time learning about theories of relativity. Laurie tries to quell her need for speed by becoming a downtown bicycle courier. One day, when her bicycle is in need of repair, she discovers a shop owned by Lorenzo, a grumpy old Italian and former pro cyclist who now hides out in his workshop installing wheels. Lorenzo takes an immediate dislike to Laurie, who reminds him too much of himself. But the young woman is stubborn and keeps coming back. One evening, a heated discussion leads to a showdown of wits. Lorenzo tries to show Laurie that winning is relative, and that speed is not the only way to make time stand still.
