Q. What are the rates for advertising and how do we pay?
A. Rates are displayed when you choose a journal and ad size in the order form and are also available by consulting our advertising rate cards online.

Visa, Mastercard and American Express accepted as well as cheques, bank drafts etc. Credit card numbers, including expiry date and name on card can be faxed to 613 565-7488 or phoned to 800 663-7336, ext. 2127 or 2314. Cheques etc. can be mailed to: Canadian Medical Association, attn: Beverley Kirkpatrick, 1867 Alta Vista Dr., Ottawa, ON K1G 3Y6. By courier: Ste 500, 150 Isabella St., Ottawa, ON K1S 1V7

Ads received from outside Canada must be prepaid in Canadian or U.S. funds.

Q. How can I get a confidential reply box number?
A. Include the following wording at the end of your ad and we will assign a box number: "Reply to Box __". The one-time charge is $20. Replies are sent to the CMA office and are forwarded to the advertiser (unopened) on the same day.

The names and addresses of advertisers using box numbers are held in strict confidence.

Q. Is there a classified advertising policy?
A. Yes, as follows:

The publisher is constantly on the alert for misrepresentation in classified advertisements but does not investigate the offers made and assumes no responsibility concerning them. The publisher therefore urges all respondents to investigate thoroughly the opportunities in these pages before making any commitments. We also reserve the right to decline, withdraw or modify advertisements at our discretion. Deadline for cancellation is 21 days prior to publication date. Ads cannot be changed after this date.

The Ontario Human Rights Code prohibits discriminatory employment advertising. Advertisers are requested to observe the following requirements:

"Section 23 (1) - The right under section 5 to equal treatment with respect to employment is infringed where an invitation to apply for employment or an advertisement in connection with employment is published or displayed that directly or indirectly classifies or indicates qualifications by a prohibited ground of discrimination. Section 5 (1)-Every person has a right to equal treatment with respect to employment without discrimination because of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, record of offences, marital status, family status or handicap."
