Michael Jarrette-Kenny

is an unpublished writer working on his second novel. Any comments or criticisms about his work would be appreciated.

Mike says, "As far as a bio goes well, I've always felt kind of ridiculous presenting it in the typical manner (usually for press kit's for bands that I have been in) so I would make up something like"; Enjoy's listening to Bartok string quartet's naked while juggling chainsaws - Something which doesn't strike me as particularly appropriate in this circumstance.

That said; "I am 27 year old and a graduate of the state University of New York (psych major).

I am currently employed as a counselor at a social service agency, working with the mentally ill and developmentally disabled. I also studied composition and play guitar semi professionally. My ambitions at the present time are to finish my second novel and hopefully publish . I currently reside (unwillingly) in the great state of New Jersey.

Most of my current output could be loosely described as science fiction, so this story is a real departure for me. It was inspired by a trip to New Orleans I took several years ago - if any place on earth can claim to possess a supernatural aura it would have to be the French quarter.

Another source was a commentary by Jorge Luis Borges on Canto V of the Inferno (I have conveniently forgotten the title of the essay).

I would appreciate any feedback from the readers - feel free to drop me an e-mail

The Work of Michael Jarrette-Kenny

Frightening - this will probably have to be read twice by many readers, for some with find more than one story in "101 Nights"

About the story "Signs" -

I've always been fascinated by certain authors, whom for one reason or another, have completely removed themselves from the public eye. The next logical step, I would assume, would be to remove oneself so far from public view as to cease to exist altogether.

So as not to be needlessly obscure, I thought it only fair to mention that a number of acrostical 'signs' are scattered throughout the story, including a signature in the final paragraph.
