All About Doug Powers

Thirty one year old Doug Powers lives in Lansing Michigan with his wife and two children. He is employed at a CBS television station ... WLNS TV ... in the 'commercial traffic' department. You might say he is the liason officer between client and production department.

Doug also dabbles in writing short, twisted tales (some of which are BASED on actual events, and some, of course, which are the result of lack of REM sleep), or so he says.

Doug Powers goes on, "I had been freelancing panel cartoons for a few years and appeared in some magazines, but have recently switched to writing as I find it a bit more 'rewarding'....not financially (yet), but it is a better suited vehicle for my type of humor. I drew panel cartoons for a few years with a certain level of frustration, I wanted to expand on the joke a bit more. So, I decided I could do this by applying the same type of humor into an essay. I'm much happier with the results."

Doug spends a great deal of time wrestling with his son, Ryan, and in his spare time he likes to write. He tells us he also enjoys reading politically and/or philosophically oriented books and a daily online joke page my friend puts out called the Daily Chuckl. E-mail Chucklhed@aol.com it's free).

Doug says he likes; humor, steak, P.J. O'Rourke books, music, Edgar Allen Poe, writing, Ayn Rand, morning coffee, football.

He dislikes: Pineapple, long division, getting shot, wedgies, taxation without representation, taxation WITH representation, cheap beer, people who play chess, potholes, when I'm in the shower upstairs and my wife flushes the toilet downstairs.

We asked Doug if he had a one line philosophy. His response; "Take time to stop and smell the noses."
