Another 'Down Home' story from Rosemary. This time, Rosemary Bowery remembers "Hog Killing Day"
It's been a spell since we last heard from friend Rosemary Bowery. But, here she is, back again with another of her 'down home' stories.... * this one about A Man Named Enoch *
For a complete listing of the writings of Rosemary Bowery, carry on down this page, after the autobiographical sketch...which is interesting enough in itself.
Rosemary Bowery was born in Big Stone Gap,Virginia January 13, 1930 - number five in a family of seven children and grew up on a small hillside farm near Blackwater, Virginia. We'll let Rosemary tell you the rest:
"Before that I lived on the moon and milked goats and helped the man in the moon make cheese. Somehow I've ended up being married to that man for forty-two years. We live in Kingsport, Tennessee and have two children. Our daughter is married to a Greensboro business man and is a Chemistry Teacher at Ben L Smith High School in Greensboro NC. Our son is a graphic artist for Rainbow Graphics, a Desktop Publishing Firm, in Kingsport.

My husband is retired from the Research Department of Tennessee Eastman and I no longer milk goats or make cheese. We, like our faithful old Ford Station Wagon have so many creaking parts our traveling is limited to short bus tours and long morning walks on the Greenbelt. I like to read, write stuff, browse flea markets and yard sales, eat popcorn and watch British sitcoms on public television."This stuff is from my collection -"Moods, Memories and Fun" - - - - I have changed some of the names so my brothers and sisters won't shoot me."
September 22, 1999. This has happened to you....to me...to all of us.
