.... by D. Grant DeMan
Having long taken up the position that nothing designed by man comes anywhere near perfection, please allow me to state the obvious. The electrical shortage in Kimit Muston's golden state is due many factors, first and foremost is the drain by wasteful industry and dial turning expansive-homed consumers. Environmentalists have persuaded us that damming more rivers is ghastly as are nuclear plants. Burning fossil fuels to a greater extent is out of the question too. I'm told that tidal energy and the winds of our wild west coast are now under development once more as sources of power.
Due to earlier governments who saw the early need to throw up dams under the control of central authority before the rush of protests, I now have a hundred dollar kickback from California for which I thank you, Kimit. Though the current and thoroughly discredited socialists like to take a vote-buying bow for it.
This has little to do with socialism. Capitalism with governmental controls will soon adjust.
When socialism takes a wrong turn it would seem to last eternally. Just look at British Columbia with half your per-capita income, and China and...need we mention Russia again?
